It is finally time to get the last step in before we can put Legacy into the water, Bottom Paint!
Earlier in the year, when the boat was in the back of the yard, we sanded and applied a few coats of barrier coat knowing that we would do a final coat right before we applied the bottom paint. Jeff and the boys worked hard and got the whole bottom sanded and ready for the last coat.
For the bottom paint we used PPG Amercoat ABC3 anti-fouling paint. It was a bit cold but we tried to time it right so that it would have the warmest part of the day to cure. The 2 coats of paint went on fast and easy and we are happy with the results.
This is strong stuff so even being out in the open air wearing a respirator was a very good idea!
Now it is time to peel the tape off and get this boat in the water!!
