It has been quite a while since our last post. We went camping at Sun Lakes Resort, this is an annual family trip with Jeff's side of the family. All and all we have 10 kids, that are 10 and under! We have tons of fun taking the kiddos out on the ski boat, jumping in the pool, playing putt-putt golf and eating a TON(thanks aunt Beth!) After the family trip, we take a few more days with just our kiddos and go camping either alone or with friends. This year we chose to go alone to Banks Lake and do the boat in sites! We had a blast!
Now that we are back it is time to get back to our Cal!
A big question that has been looming around the boat is, does the engine run? Jim, the past owner had purchased a rebuilt Perkins for the boat but it has been sitting in its crate under the stern for quite a few years! Upon looking over the little Perkins Jeff was hopeful as everything seemed well oiled. We asked one of the mechanics in the yard, Steve, to help us start the engine up for the first time.

SHE RUNS! All though it looked like a seen out of Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang, our little engine works!
The next day, Jeff changed the oil twice as there was a little condensation water they had found. Now we have clean oil! Jeff will now begin the process of going through the engine, taking it a part to strip and repaint, getting new injectors and various other engine projects that cause my eyes to glaze over when he starts to talk! I will have him post on here what he does for all you mechanically minded folk!
